At Westdale Florist, we provide local delivery services to ensure your fresh flowers arrive in perfect condition. Please review our shipping and delivery policies below.
Delivery Areas
We offer local delivery within our service area in the Hamilton/Westdale region. You can check if your delivery address is within our service area during checkout. If you're unsure whether we deliver to a specific location, please contact us before placing your order.
Delivery Methods
- Local Courier Delivery: Hand-delivered by our team or trusted local delivery partners
- In-Store Pickup: Available during business hours at our Westdale location
Delivery Fees
Delivery fees vary based on the delivery location and are calculated at checkout. Delivery fees are non-refundable once a delivery attempt has been made.
Delivery Times and Windows
- Standard Delivery: Orders are typically delivered within our scheduled delivery windows
- Same-Day Delivery: Available for orders placed before our daily cutoff time 1PM.
- Scheduled Delivery: You may select a preferred delivery date during checkout
- Delivery Windows: We offer delivery windows rather than specific times to optimize our routes and ensure freshness
Please note:
- Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed
- During peak periods (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc.), delivery windows may be extended
- We cannot guarantee specific delivery times, only date-based delivery windows
Order Processing
- Orders are processed Monday through Saturday
- Orders placed after business hours or on Sundays will be processed the next business day
- Same-day delivery orders must be placed before our cutoff time
- Peak holiday orders should be placed in advance to ensure availability
Delivery Requirements
- We require a complete and accurate delivery address, including apartment/unit numbers
- A phone number for the recipient is helpful but not required
- Special delivery instructions can be added at checkout (e.g., "leave at door," "call upon arrival")
Recipient Unavailability
If the recipient is not available at the time of delivery:
- We will follow the delivery instructions you provided at checkout
- We may leave the arrangement in a safe location if instructed
- We may contact the recipient using the phone number provided
- If delivery cannot be completed, we will contact you to arrange redelivery
Additional delivery attempts may incur extra fees.
Delivery Confirmation
You will receive:
- Order confirmation email when your order is placed
- Delivery confirmation notification when your order has been delivered (when available)
Failed Deliveries
We are not responsible for failed deliveries due to:
- Incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the customer
- Recipient refusal
- Recipient unavailability when no safe delivery instructions were provided
- Restricted access to delivery location
Perishable Products
Fresh flowers are perishable and time-sensitive. Once delivered:
- We cannot be responsible for arrangements left unattended
- Care instructions will be included with your delivery
- Quality issues must be reported within 24 hours with photos
Peak Season Delivery
During major holidays (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, etc.):
- Delivery volumes are significantly higher
- Delivery windows may be extended to accommodate demand
- Specific time requests cannot be guaranteed
- We recommend ordering early to secure your preferred delivery date
- Cancellation and change policies may be stricter
Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances
We make every effort to deliver on time, but we cannot guarantee delivery during:
- Severe weather conditions
- Natural disasters
- Road closures or traffic incidents
- Other circumstances beyond our control
We will contact you if weather or other issues affect your delivery.
International and Long-Distance Shipping
We do not currently offer shipping outside our local delivery area. For deliveries outside our service area, we recommend using a wire service or contacting a florist in the recipient's area.
Tracking
Delivery tracking is not available for all orders. You will receive delivery confirmation when your order has been successfully delivered.
Changes to Delivery
If you need to change the delivery address or date:
- Contact us as soon as possible
- Changes cannot be guaranteed once the order is out for delivery
- Same-day delivery orders cannot be changed once confirmed
- Additional fees may apply for delivery changes
